The rotary pan plant as a primary concentrator works on two complementary principles of gravitational settling and centrifugal force. In this manner, the heavier concentrate is forced downwards and outwards towards an extraction point on the outer side of the pan, whereas the lighter, waste material remains suspended and flows over an outlet weir in the center of the pan.
The pan concentrate is usually directed towards a secondary concentrator such as a circular mineral jog or tapped off into mobile concentrate bin and transported to a dedicated recovery plant.Savana builds a 4’ diameter exploration or small-scale pan, a 10’ diameter medium-scale and the larger 16’ diameter pan. For heavy sand conditions Savana modifies our pan plants with a sand screen that easily copes with the small size feed.
